GREATANDHRA.COM REVIEW

We have witnessed 'Naa Video Diary'- Confessions of the film maker, the boldest movie ever made in the history of 75-year old-Telugu film industry.

How a film maker goes bold and uses his Freedom of Expression completely? How a film maker used filthiest language in the film to make it natural? What is the meaning of being non-hypocritical? How are the things moving in Film industry? We can understand everything watching this mind-blowing revolutionary film.

Well, it was made by Aneesh, the close pal of Sekhar Kammula. Kamal Kamaraj (paired up with Neetu Chandra in Godavari) acted in the film. It's the film that was made on the 'confessions of a film maker'.

Story Line:

An aspiring director spends 10 years of time in film industry struggling to find a chance. But he finds nothing. He wants to commit suicide. Then out of frustration he makes a film of his own by asking his friend to shoot him for 10 days naturally. All that he speaks will be recorded in that.

What's recorded?

The aspiring director says many things about film industry and its celebrities.

Here are a few snippets out of his speech in unedited mode.

"What's this film industry? People come here with high aspirations imagining many things and start staying in Krishna Nagar.
"Who are these Babus? Were does this word come from? Always the directors who work with these so-called babus enquire, 'Babu Garu lecharaa"", etc etc. What do these Babus do? We know a babu who feels he is a great actor. He knows no acting other than shouting 'hehe he ..oho oho ho' (the name of this hero is not used directly)"

"Do you know why Sunil, Venu Madhav and all call heroes anna, babai and all? That's for security. If they find no films in future they can rely on these babais and annas to put them in their films on obligation. It's a hypocritical field".

"Some heroes say that there is acting in their blood. If there is acting in blood, what would be there in uchcha?"

A scene was shown this way: Beside the hoarding of Chiranjeevi's Charitable Trust, a placard is placed mentioned, "Open Your Eyes For Better Movies". That is the satire thrown on Chiranjeevi.

He hasn't spared any hero in this 95 minute film.

The film was screened last night (12th May) in Prasad's labs to which Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Gunnam Gangaraju, R Narayana Murthy, IMAX Prasad, Madhura Entertainment Sridhar, Sekhar Kammula and many journalists had made their presence.

Aneesh said that it is the first and last show in theater.

He also said that he is not going to release this film outside as the censor would cut the film to 9 minutes if attempted doing so.

A young female journalist asked, "Aneesh! It would had been better had you cut down the dialogues with words like gudda and sallu". (Yes! The journalist too asked boldly literally uttering the words loudly)

Gunnam Gangaraju also questioned the same.

Aneesh said that he wanted to showcase the film naturally without any filter.

Aneesh said that he is going to send that to censor in USA and release there in the form of DVDs. The full-version of the film also discussed about castiesm in film industry it seems.

The film was made in 5 days (it was made in 28 days! this writer didnt check facts with me) and made the audiences sit attentive to every second of it. Aneesh says that he plans to sell internet rights of this film.

Every time we hear the news that someone squeezed the breasts (literally the word 's-llu' was used without any editing) of some new heroine and the other fucked the ass (literally used the word 'Gu-da) of another. I hear nothing other than this".-----THERE IS NO LINE OF DIALOGUE LIKE THIS IN THE FILM
Babu gaaru uchcha posukunnaara?" etc etc. What do these Babus do? We know a babu who feels he is a great actor. He knows no acting other than shouting 'hehe he ..oho oho ho' (the name of this hero is not used directly)"------YET ANOTHER FABRICATION.

Hi Anish , I will accept that nepotism,Cateism,Hero domination does exist in Tollywood. Though I didnt watch your movie, reviews I read in blogs prompted me to write something here ...

1) You have blamed the action of some socalled heroes, If they dont possess sufficient action talents how they succeed in Film industry & delivered massive box oficehits ...

Rameshbabu,Hari krishna,Nithin & some other heores failed to woo telugu audience despite having film background because their action talents may not upto the mark...

2) In Telugu film industry directors like Vishwanath, Bapu & Vamsi directed master piece movies like Seethara,Swayamkrushi,Pelli pusthaka etc .. dont u remember those movie ?

5)There is a lot of resemblence between your first movie Anand & Godavari. In the first film protaganist tries to woo the heroine who has failed in love ..
In godavari Heroine tries to woo the protagonist who was dejected by his sister-in-law ? Yoo too produced a mediocre film ,what is your commnt about that ?

3) Why you have used filthy language in a movie watchable by all section of audience?

4)If you really bother about fresh talent why you have casted Sumanth ( heir of ANR family) rather than introducing a new comer.

5) Why you have targeted specific personalities ? Persons who dominating film indutry through Castesim, muscle power & money power are part & parcel of Indian indiferent society. Problem lies with Indian society where film personalities has no exception ?

I use to talk filthy & natural language in a casual chit chat with my frnds but in presence of my family members & elders ... Because we are living in a society where custom & moral laws does exists ..

If you have leisure time plzz give answers to me ?

Bhai,it pains…it pains to hear the reviews you are getting….it pains to see that ignorant fucks are invited to get the “pleasure” of bringing you down….

Boggles me why those chuts are against what you have to say…may be coz like the dialog in Thank you for smoking ” Everyone has a mortgage”…maybe coz they didt understand the movie…maybe coz they cannot be as open to make a point as you did….Dude…i am all with you..keep up the spirits…

It would be really interesting to know what Sekhar Kammula’s and Gunam Gangaraju think about your movie….Keep churning miyan…vent your anger here..let the people know about it…..

Wishing you all the very best :)>-

Hi!
there r some points raised by kalyan above. As a blogger of this blog n from the few ppl who watched this movie i wud like to say something.

In the Movie he has given a tribute to gr8 classic movies and it is also mentioned in the articles given in various sites...

The director spoke abt the so called actors who r not havin potential in actin n also actors who have potential but not acceptin gud cinema...
Anyhow i feel If a movie succeeds in box office it doesnt make an actor who has been casted in that movie a gud actor...

Anand and Godavari r not Anish movie but shekar kammulla's. talkin abt the cast in those movies apart from Sumanth they have a cast of many new comers and new talent in the movie. May be castin sumanth in Godavari led anish to make this movie, who knows?
And i also heard Shekar kammulla's new movie Happy Days is only having new comers.

Most of the movies here target some or other personalities, in other professions.
But it never divulged on how the film industry itself is corrupted n this film talked abt it...

U urself hve clarified that u use filthy language among friends. may be anish dint want be hypocrytic while making such movie where the character is in constant dialogue with his friend.
Representing the state of mind of a character in a movie has nothin to do with customs ...n plzz sir customs n moral laws r not patents of India they exist in US also.
I think u have a wrong impressions abt customs and moral laws.

Anyway i dont blame u as u did not watch the movie yet...

PS: Anish it wud be nice to hear ur comments in the blog itself...

Anil

yes, looking forward for ur comments..

i think the reviews r not entirely bad either...

i know some people belonging to chiru went and bashed up furniture and the person who wrote a good review on a bad film of hizz...

now is that true that u r getting not so friendly calls after the premier???

@Anil

I didnt say Customs & moral law are sole property of India. They may vary with the Country to country and depends upon the Religion,Kinship, families, local politics & some times climate too ...

confessions of a filmmaker

Why does a filmmaker make a movie?…..to tell a story…to tell something he passionately believes in…to connect to the world with his story..to tell the world what he feels…..are there any boundaries?…..think twice before answering this…..well apparently there are some pseudo-watchmen existing in the Telugu film industry who are hell bent of tearing apart Anish for his latest creation Naa Video Diary’- Confessions of the film maker…there are watch dogs who are eagerly waiting for their new dog-food i.e Anish kuruvilla….

It pains me no bounds to hear that the movie might never be released….it pains to hear that the esteemed Telugu film industry is so sissy that they cannot face a mirror….it pains to see that the Telugu film industry is hell bent on not changing…..here is one man who had the balls to make the movie he made and every masked person from the industry, from the press from the production houses is trying to threaten him…threaten him of his survival..threaten him of his existence in the film industry..threatening him to make sure that none of his or his friend’s ( Sekhar Kamulla’s) movie see the light of the screens…..LONG LIVE DEMOCRACY

I had been reading quite a few reviews on the private screening that Anish did for his movie….and what do i find…..every one says the movie is bold…but, none is there to give a pat on his back and say…..” Thank you Anish….you said what we always talk about in the living room…but never had the balls to come out in open and state it…thank you for taking our cause…thank you…”….instead it is so baffling to see that..most of them are so sadhu-santh’s that they couldn’t hear the mother fucking ” F” word…..these self-confessed protectors of morals are not living in the world i am living……one reviewer is such a virgin that he/she thinks that ” piss” is profanity…..wow…hats off to you…

The producers, the directors, the press…who should be backing Anish for his vision and his story..instead are taking the safe route of saying ” bold movie…but….why did you do this…you are doomed”…..Gunam Gangaraju the producer of Ayithe and Anukokunda Okka Roju goes to extent of saying Anish to never show his face to him…..why Gunam..why? Just because Anish had a point to tell to which you do not agree to? Its all fair to not like a persons movie…but to “Bobbitt” him because you might get in trouble for being his associate is the definition of impotency in my dictionary….RALLY around Anish, Gunam….stand up and applaud Anish…here is one movie-maker who said what he had to without being hypocritical……then there are others who have pledged that Anish’s next produced movie directed by Sekhar kamulla would never see the light…infact he says..he will fucking make sure it will not be released……….Hats off Anish….for showing what most might not even know….and nah..i am not talking about what you have in the movie…most of us haven’t even watched it….but the reactions that you are getting sums up the sorry state of Telugu Industry in which are pouring millions into….please find me a profane synonym for Hypocrisy…..

The Press

Please help me emote here..the choices are

A. Laughter

B. Anger

C. Sorrow

D. Puke

Why? take this for instance…

www.greatandhra.com states ” He hasn’t spared any hero in this 95 minute film”

OM: Hitler Anish…..please spare them…..ooops..i thought you had a story to tell about the Telugu Film industry and “hero’s” are a part of it…..

GA goes on to state about this journalist…..”A young female journalist asked, “Aneesh! It would had been better had you cut down the dialogues with words like gudda and sallu”. (Yes! The journalist too asked boldly literally uttering the words loudly)”

OM: For non telugu speaking readers…Gudda = Ass, Sallu = Breast…..What have you done Anish…..why did you have to say these words…you could have actually taken a close angle shots of the ass and the boobs of a plump actress….you know..its ok to do that..but ayyila…shame shame pappi shame…you used those words? chi chi chi…how am i gonna watch with my mummy and pappa who have no objections for other double-meaning words for the same anatomy?

From Total Tollywood:

“And though the film runs a disclaimer that it is strictly for people older than 18, the language used in the film is still unacceptable. ( total tollywood)”

OM: What have you done Anish…did you not know that you have to ask the person from Total Tollywood on the acceptance of certain language….he/she for once is sitting up there making decisions for me you and our neighbor…..or maybe we can pardon the person..he/she probably had never heard the language used….please provide the meaning of the words from next time..ok?

From www.telugucinema.com

“Anish points seem justifiable but they are contradictory in nature and perceived in myopic view and at times look perverted (pointing middle finger, using F word). ( telugu cinema.com)”

OM: Voila….Eureka….this person has given a new meaning to “perverted”…..i am so fucking naive that i fucking had no clue as to what the showing of the fucking middle finger meant…i grew up fucking thinking that showing the fucking middle finger always meant ” Fuck you”….TeluguCinema.com…I might be be wrong…correct me…ohh and please listen to rajnish’s audio for the meaning of fuck…..

Navya Vaitla from telugucinema says ” People don’t come to have orgasm, man. Naval gazing is not sin as you made out to be. In Hollywood and matured World Cinema, they go further and show heroines naked”

OM: errrr..i had always gone to the cinema halls to jerk off…..to have visual masturbation and orgasm….Navya…seriously help me in reacting to your comment…..right now i am ROFLMAO…..

I really pity the Telugu industry…pity because its gonna get rusted in the shed it is in right now…… It is such ironical, the scene which comes to my mind about the sorry state of this is from recent Gunam Gangaraju Produced Anukokunda okka Roju….where the character hides his face when his chaser finds him……Everyone knows what Anish talks about in his movie is true..but…i guess its better to act like a cat…close your eyes when the master catches you stealthily drinking milk….

Anish sums up his side of story aptly

“my one question/answer to that is….is everything our stars have done so far been politically correct?….if yes…then my film doesn’t have a case….if no…then my film does….what do you say? ”

Hell right Anish…we are with you…..Good luck….keep doing what you are doing…do not give up….

HI Kalyan,

Here are a few answers to ur questions. I'm answering as I love films and would like to see some good films.

>>>>>>>>>>>>Oh Please! What has success anything to do with talent? Neither Nagarjuna nor Venkatesh can act to save thier lives. Rnt they successful? Another example is Krishna. Success is a product of smart marketing not necessarily acting talent.

2) In Telugu film industry directors like Vishwanath, Bapu & Vamsi directed master piece movies like Seethara,Swayamkrushi,Pelli pusthaka etc .. dont u remember those movie ?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sorry dude! None of the films you mentioned though better than others are great films, they r good films but far away from being great. If these films are called great, it just shows how fucked up the industry is.

3) Why you have used filthy language in a movie watchable by all section of audience?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>From what I understand, the film is made only for adults.

5) Why you have targeted specific personalities ? Persons who dominating film indutry through Castesim, muscle power & money power are part & parcel of Indian indiferent society. Problem lies with Indian society where film personalities has no exception ?

>>>>>>>>>You are probably correct. So you are accepting that Indian film Industry is flithy.

I use to talk filthy & natural language in a casual chit chat with my frnds but in presence of my family members & elders ... Because we are living in a society where custom & moral laws does exists ..

>>>>>>>>>>>Seriously, what the hell is morality? Who enforces this 'code'?
